FAQs
What happens during the first session?
An agreement will be emailed to you a couple of days before you start. You will then have a chance to go through the agreement at our first session to discuss any concerns or ask any questions. We will also discuss what you would like to achieve through our sessions and how we can work together to achieve an optimal outcome. We can also explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives and perhaps a new understanding of yourself.
How many sessions will I need?
This will be entirely up to you. There is no pressure to book a certain number of sessions.
When is payment due?
Payment is due at least 24 hours before the session. If payment is not made, unfortunately the session will be cancelled. Payment can be made through bank transfer or cash at the time of a face to face session if preferred.
Can I cancel a session?
A session can be cancelled or re-arranged by giving at least 24 hours notice. If a session is cancelled less than 24 hours, no reimbursement will be made.
Is counselling confidential?
As a member of the BACP I am bound by their Ethical Framework to protect a client’s confidentiality. Therefore, everything that we discuss is confidential except in certain circumstances such as disclosing a risk of harm to yourself or others - these will be outlined in the contract sent to you before you start counselling.
